Retailer Tip of the Month
Live by Price, Die by Price
"Businesses around the world have angst over the issue of pricing their goods or services. Are you a prestige brand or are you focused on offering the lowest possible price? I believe if you live by price, you will die by price. Price can't be the only area where you compete. People don't just shop Wal-Mart for low prices. It's the convenience of the selection of merchandise under one roof at a time when you want to shop. But it's as much of a mistake to stick your head in the sand and say you are just going to price merchandise based on costs alone. We must be competitive."
