Buyers Market of American Craft
Making Art Your Business for More Than 25 Years
The Buyers Market of American Craft is the nation’s largest wholesale trade show, providing artists a professional venue to build relationships with qualified wholesale craft buyers. Approximately 1,500 artists exhibit to more than 9,000 buyers from 3,000 companies from across the United States and Canada.
Held semiannually, Buyers Market exhibitors realize more than $38 million in sales each year. The Buyers Market was twice named one of the 50 Fastest Growing Trade Shows in America by Tradeshow Week magazine.
Consider the Impact:
18 months before each show, planning and promotion begins, including:
20 full page ads promoting the Buyers Market in publications like Lustre, JCK, Accessory Merchandising, Giftware News, Home Décor Buyer, Home Fashion and Furniture Trends, Furniture Style, Ontario Craft Magazine, Metalsmith, Ceramics Monthly, Clay Times, and Fiber Arts;
70,000 registration brochures mailed during the course of the year;
48,000 targeted mailings and invitations to specialty retailers and gift shops.
Arriving at each show are:
30 trailers of exhibitor freight,
3 miles of carpeting,
28,000 yards of drapery,
30 Rosen Group staff members.
During each show:
1,500 independent artist studios in glass, ceramics, wood, furniture, jewelry, metal and mixed media exhibit to
9,000 retailers representing,
3,000 companies spending
$36,000,000 during only
3-4 days of buying.
All that equals:
$40,000 average sales per exhibiting company each year,
$12,900,000 in reported total exhibitor sales,
$38,700,000 in projected WHOLESALE sales, and
$96,000,000 in retail sales impact!
Not to mention the increased tax revenues generated by craft retailer prosperity.
To the city of Philadelphia this means:
9,000 hotel room nights reserved and
$3,500,000 in tourism dollars
Twice a year.
